February 2015 FGC Meeting
The California Sportfishing League was at the Feb 11 and 12 Fish and Game Commission meeting to represent the interests of California anglers and the small businesses that depend on them! During the meeting, the Commission voted to appoint Jack Baylis (Los Angeles) and Jim Kellogg (Discovery Bay) President and Vice President of the Commission, respectively.
The Commission also placed a number of important items on the March 4 Marine Resources Committee agenda, including: an update on the Marine Life Protection Act Master Plan and an update on illegal municipal fishing bans (an issue championed by CSL). The Commission will also allow CSL to make a presentation at the upcoming MRC meeting about the decline of recreational fishing in California, and how we can reverse this trend.
Stay tuned for updates from the important March 4 Marine Resources Committee Hearing!
